The ferns and the bridal wreath spirea did not come in this year as fully as they did last year. Not sure why. Last year's drought maybe? Shown below is a photo from Memorial Day Weekend just last year.

Another gorgeous day to be in the yard. I did a little more raking of the gardens. 

I also mowed the backyard. Tomorrow I'll try and mow the front. Also got in a quick cigar.

Been trying to do a little yard clean up every day that it's not raining. Today I finished raking out the gardens. Some of the perennials are not coming back as fully as they usually do. I'm thinking a lot of it has to do with last year's drought.

Late spring again this year. The azaleas (photos from the neighborhood)...

...crab trees (photo from the neighborhood)...

and tulips and daffodils (photos from Jax Cafe) are all blooming at the same time. Usually there's a little staggering which occurs but not so this year due to the complete un-gradual nature of the weather warming up. It's all happening at once.
