Mike texted early this afternoon and asked if I wanted to get together for a cigar. I said yes because we've been trying to set something up for a few weeks without things working out and also because it's supposed to be pleasant into the late afternoon. 

We sat out in the back yard and listened to jazz. It's been 6 months since we've seen each other and it was fun to catch up. I asked him if he wanted to stay for dinner and he accepted. 

Dale made chili and we watched The Women. 

I went with brown.

Today was the last day of school before our 10 day spring break. Last year our trip to Arizona to visit Dale's family was cancelled due to the pandemic and I spent my break getting ready for the start of distance learning at school. It's such a relief this year that our trip to Arizona is on and I don't have one bit of work to do for school. Celebrated with a cigar. Only 43 degrees outside but quite pleasant in the sun with a proper jacket. 

Listened to some jazz.

Cocktail hour inside. Dale went to the store and picked up some Beefeater gin for me. We ordered dinner from Buster's. Dale got the birdie melt and I got a mushroom and Swiss burger.

Very Windy

A lovely 72 degrees (the highest so far this year) today but very windy. So windy, in fact, that it blew over a plastic Adirondack chair. 

The wind didn't prevent me from lighting up a cigar and listening to music.

This outdoor kitty has been part of the neighborhood landscape as long as I can remember. She often sits on her front stoop just like you see here; very regally. I've seen her in our yard a couple of times; once with a baby bunny dangling out of her mouth. She's quite the hunter.
