Up On the Roof

I climbed up on the roof to get the whirly-birds off of it. We think they may be responsible for some leaking we’ve experienced recently. Water builds up under them and then doesn’t drain off the roof but seeps inside. I swept them down to Dale and he helped collect them in a bucket (most pictures don’t show the whirly-bird seeds except in the top picture you can see where they built up to prevent drainage). I think Dale was a bit surprised how much I liked being on the roof. The best part of all of this though is that we did it together. What a team.

Crab Tree

Neighbor's crab tree. Photo taken May 1 on a walk home from school.

Crab Tree

Photo taken April 27 on my morning walk to school.

May in Minneapolis

A neighbor's tree. Not sure what kind but it holds its pink leaves a lot longer than the crab trees do.

May Has Been Lovely, So Far

Took this photo about a week and a half ago on my morning walk to school. The air has smelled so sweet lately but the lilacs are starting to fade.

Did you know lilac wood is often used for engraving, musical instruments, and knife handles? If not, you do now!
