Spent a couple hours in the yard today. Got the lawn mowed, the front garden weeded, and the front planters planted with impatiens and sweet potato vines.

Zapped In the Front Yard Too
Zapped
A couple nights ago we had a hard frost and the impatiens are pretty much done in. The pot you see here is pretty close to the house and the flowers closest to the house look okay and the ones on the outer edge of the pot are gone. All the other impatiens in the yard are dead.

More Back Stoop
I love how the impatiens in the blue pot have filled out. Obviously, they're quite tall at this point in the season. They won't be around much longer as I've found that impatiens tend to be pretty cold sensitive. They sure look good now, though! The two pots on the right are planted with rosemary. That would be my reflection in the door.

Total Daylight: 14 Hours and 00 Minutes
The shorter days are becoming more and more obvious - especially so (to me, at least) in the evening. I'm up so much later than Dale is so I'll have to ask him if he's noticing a difference in the morning. The photo shows a pot of impatiens in the foreground and the pot of coleus in the background. Both are located by the rhubarb garden by the garage.

The Yard of the House on Stevens

you see the Blessed Mother near one of two trees on the south border of the backyard. Both trees were eventually torn down. During that period I was usually in charge of the impatiens in the flower box on the front side of the house. They'd usually grow pretty tall with the help of lots of water and a part of a banana peel I'd plant under each one for fertilizer.
