These photos were taken on June 18. It was and especially hot day and, as you can especially see in the bottom photo, the bunny was feeling it.

Morning Rain
Woke up to a lovely sounding rain this morning. Dale took this picture from the porch. It was very pleasant to look at it and drink coffee.

Coneflowers
These coneflowers are from a neighbor's blooming boulevard. I had a number of them in the backyard as recently as couple of years ago. Last year just one scraggly looking one came back and this year not even that one made it. Not sure why they've had such trouble. I feel so behind on the yard work this year. The summer course I'm taking is making it difficult to do so.

Pretty Flowers
These guys are flowering now in the garden by the grill. I'm not sure what the name of this plant is but it reminds me a little bit of the helenium that I've had for a long time.

102 Degrees
When all was said and done today it turns out we got to 102. Front has moved in and we've gotten rain. Down to 32 degrees now.
Sven Says 100 Degrees
Just saw Sven Sundegaard's post on Facebook that we hit 100 degrees at 2:30pm today. It's the second time we've hit 100 this week and, according to Sven, the first time in 24 years that we've hit 100 degrees twice. I remember the summer of '88 as a hot one. I seem to recall that we hit 100 even more than twice that year.

Happy 4th, Yesterday's Full Moon, & 100 Degrees
Happy Fourth of July!
A gal I used to work with ages ago posted this photo she took herself on Facebook today. She said she took it yesterday evening while sitting outside her lake cabin.
By the way, we hit 100 degrees today.

First Annuals of 2012
I'm a bit late this year in getting annuals planted. Usually I start planting them shortly after school gets out. Due to the class I'm taking this summer I'm a little behind. These jumbo marigolds look great in this container that sits on Jim and Megan's retaining wall.
