The Birds
Crows have been gathering en masse over the last few days and they've been cawing loudly. The photo shows Jim and Megan's backyard silver maple with a bunch of them. Our front yard silver maple had a good number as well. I took Athena out for a walk just before 5 p.m. and the skies and trees were so full it looked like something out of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. At times I'd look up and there were so many flying above that it reminded me of the scene from The Wizard of Oz when the flying monkeys are released.

Yesterday's Backyard Gathering
Dale's mom and dad are in town. We had a few friends and neighbors over to meet them. Notice Jim and Megan's dog Berniece in the bottom right corner of the bottom photo. I think she had as much fun as the rest of the neighbors.

Our next door neighbors Jim and Megan are having some work done on their retaining wall. Only the top stones are being replaced.

400th Post!!!
Yesterday our neighbors Jim and Megan asked me to let their dog, Berniece, out this afternoon. She's sweet. I sat with her for a bit while I did some reading for school. I always get a kick out of what our yard looks like from a slightly different vantage point.

Robin Eggs
Our neighbor Megan has a shrub in her front yard that she was going to pull up when she noticed two robin's eggs in a nest hiding beneath the greenery. Over the last two days two more eggs have appeared. They really are beautiful!

Neighbor's Snowman
A few days ago our neighbors Jim and Megan asked if we could let their dog, Berniece, out after work today. While over there I snapped this photo of their snowman.

Jim and Megan's Silver Maple
Jim and Megan's silver maple is pictured on top. Compare it to ours on bottom. Theirs always hold onto its leaves longer.

Return Home
Just got back from visiting Brenda and Irv in Colorado. Found the yard to be looking great when we pulled in the driveway. Mom's been coming over to water and our neighbors Jim, Megan and Deb helped out too.
