May Full Moon

The May full moon is known as the Full Flower Moon due to the abundance of flowers during this time.  Other names include the Full Corn Planting Moon and the Milk Moon.

As I walked Athena last night I noticed how brilliant the moon looked in the metallic blue sky.  I love how late it stays light at this time of year.  Even though the the sun is down the sky is still blue for a while.  The above photo (actually from yesterday) was taken at 9:09 p.m.  Tonight the moon will be full around 11:30.

98 Degrees

I hear it got to 98 degrees yesterday. Isn't that something? That's a record!

Yesterday's Snow

Yes, it snowed most of the morning and part of the early afternoon yesterday. I was at a conference in St. Paul and got this shot of some snow outside the skyway window. You can see the Mississippi River in the upper left quadrant of the photo.

May Snow

A little snow fell today although nothing accumulated. It's supposed to start snowing again overnight. Dale told me that the National Weather Service has issued a severe winter storm warning and I just read that there's a 60% chance that we'll have a May snowfall record. Go figure.
