Common Gardens

Was at Common Gardens on Lyndale this past weekend with my friend Noel. Said 'Hi' to Juniper the cat (Bud was nowhere to be found) and snapped some photos of some pretty spring flowers. The weather was gorgeous - temps were in the 70's.

What a Hard Worker

I think this is the earliest we've ever done a spring raking. Dale's a hard worker.

Deb!

Snapped this photo of Deb yesterday as she was coming into her yard. What a fantastic neighbor she is!

More St. Patrick's Day 2012

Cocktail hour last night involved the inaugural evening of The Mermaid Lounge. Can you believe we had a high of 80 degrees today? Outdoor cocktail hour on St. Patrick's Day. Amazing.

St. Patrick's Day 2012

Dale set up the lawn chairs yesterday morning. In the evening we had drinks outside. We weren't anticipating bugs but some pretty big flies decided to show up. At least there were no mosquitos.  High on St. Patrick's Day of 80 degrees.

Snowman

I think this guy would be a bit more comfortable in normal March weather. I heard it got to 67 degrees today. Gorgeous.

Before and After Part 2

The top picture was taken at about 8:00 a.m. when it was around 42 degrees. The bottom picture was taken at about 4:00 p.m. when my cell phone said it was 64 degrees.

Gently Falling Snow

Gently falling snow this morning. Full moon today. The March full moon is also known as the Full Worm Moon. The kids were nutty at school.

Scary Stuff

The following is from Paul Douglas' column in the Star Tribune yesterday.

"Mile-wide tornadoes, epic floods, drought; flowers already in bloom in New England? We'll see 50 by Tuesday; the GFS hints at 70 by mid-March. We seem to have skipped a month. Or two."

"A warmer atmosphere holds more water, more fuel for storms. 2010 was Minnesota's wettest year on record. We also saw 145 tornadoes."

"Uh oh, I fell a climate change lecture coming on. Spare us a Sunday sermon. Why remind us? Because this will be one of the three big stories of the 21st century. Because someday your grandkids may come up and ask what you knew, when, and what you did about it."

"Outbreaks of bizarre weather are a symptom - our atmosphere is running a slight fever. If you're not at all concerned, you're not paying attention."
